Popular singer Velmurugan has been appointed as a member of the committee constituted to identify eligible applicants and prepare and submit the appropriate list of names for the appointment of non-hereditary trustees to temples maintained by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
Following his appointment, Velmurugan expressed his gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru C. Joseph Vijay, the Hon’ble Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Thiru S. Ramesh, and the HR&CE Commissioner, Thiru J. Kumara Gurubaran, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Velmurugan said: “I will not consider this merely as a position, but as a responsibility, and I will carry out my duties with sincerity. I am extremely happy to have been given this opportunity to serve the Almighty.
As an ordinary person who has been singing in temples, I am truly grateful to God and to the Government and the Hon’ble Chief Minister for giving me this opportunity. By the grace of the Almighty Lord Murugan, may good things always happen to everyone.”
Velmurugan further expressed his commitment to discharging the responsibility entrusted to him with dedication and humility, considering it an opportunity to serve the divine and the community.
