Actor Udhaya’s heartfelt post on his mother

*Actor Udhaya’s heartfelt post on his mother Mrs. Valliammi who passed away recently*

Mother of Actor Udhaya and Director Vijay, and wife of veteran Producer Mr. AL. Alagappan Mrs. Valliammai passed away a few days ago.

Following are the touching tributes of her eldest son Udhaya about Mrs. Valliammai:

Mother is equal to Goddess for everyone. And it would be no exaggeration if I say she is more than a God to us. Our mother was the one who never thought any harm to anyone. She treated and loved all three children (Vijay, sister and me) equally.

My mother would affectionately call me Senthil. After I got the desire to act in films, I told her first. Although my father was not very keen on it, it was my mother who convinced him to allow me to become an actor.

My mother was my biggest support and inspiration for the past 22 years since I started acting in cinema. “You will surely win big,” she often said. She visited many temples and prayed for my success.

Even though I was not able to do much to my mother financially like my brother Vijay, I was determined to marry the woman whom my mother suggested and fulfilled her wish. Though I was not able to provide monetary support to her, I showered immense love on her. But what she gave me was much more.

She had bounced back to the surprise of the doctors whenever her health condition had failed before. She would tell me with a smile that “I will not leave without seeing you win”. She was a fighter. But when no one expected it, she has left us all.

Although I am not very good at expressing my affection, I talked to my mother a lot in the days before she died. Even at that time she kept encouraging me. When I told one of my cousins that I would be an orphan if my mother left, mother said confidently that she would not leave me like that. But today she is not with us.

She was an example of how to respect and help others. She was particular that no one who came home should leave without having food. It was because of that love that when she died many people came from everywhere to pay tributes to her.

It was our mother who united all four of us (father, me, Vijay, sister) with different characteristics. She was a great example to everyone of how a family should be, how husband-wife relationship should be, how to behave towards parents and how to treat children. She loved her grandchildren a lot.

It was her wish that brother Vijay and I should work together. Accordingly, I acted in the film Thalaivaa. Vijay ensured the best possible treatment for Amma. All our family members took good care of mom and provided her all possible support. However, she left us at an unexpected moment.

Although she is not with us physically, she lives within us. I keep listening to her voice messages. I can feel her within me. Sincere thanks to everyone who stood us during this difficult time.

I am sure Amma will continue to guide us as God.

Love you and miss you, Amma

Dear son,
Udhaya aka Senthil.
